This HALL was all about scent which created an immersive atmosphere, thoughtfully composed together with the architecture and light to guide two strangers through the installation and prepare them for their encounter.
Throughout the whole process we ideated and discussed everything in a democratic approach.
We built an architecture with a modular system, provided by TAAT, mostly consisting of wood pieces.
With the preinstalled LED lights which were positioned as a grid on the sealing, and some custom placed halogen lamps we were lighting the installation to focus the attention of the visitors on the areas where they could engage with each other.
The visitors were not allowed to verbally communicate with each other, but to interact with each other through the architecture. Through specifically positioned seating situations, holes and light spots they were able to engage nonverbally.
This created an environment, far away from our over overstimulated world, where both strangers perform for each other.
With a selection of photographs, I invite you to have a visual tour through the installation.
